JavaScript: Bringing Object-Level Security to the Browser
نویسندگان
چکیده
JavaScript has evolved from a simple language intended to give web browsers basic interaction into a fully featured dynamic language that allows the browser to become an application delivery platform. With innovations such as asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), JavaScript has become the de facto standard for creating interactive web applications. With its new found power and popularity, JavaScript has been the target of many attacks. In this paper, we present a framework that allows programmers to define secure properties of JavaScript objects such that they are more immune to malicious activity and require a smaller footprint that existing solutions. We then use our framework and apply it to an already built JavaScript system to analyze its properties and effectiveness.

Web Browser Security: Different Attacks Detection and Prevention Techniques
In this paper, we present a systematic study of how to make a browser secure. Web browser is vulnerable to different attacks; these attacks are performed due to vulnerabilities in the UI of the web page, Browser cache memory, extensions, plug-in. The Attacker can run malicious JavaScript to exploit user system by using these vulnerabilities. Buffer overflow attack, Cross-site-scripting, Man-in-...
متن کاملCross-Origin JavaScript Capability Leaks: Detection, Exploitation, and Defense
We identify a class of Web browser implementation vulnerabilities, cross-origin JavaScript capability leaks, which occur when the browser leaks a JavaScript pointer from one security origin to another. We devise an algorithm for detecting these vulnerabilities by monitoring the “points-to” relation of the JavaScript heap. Our algorithm finds a number of new vulnerabilities in the opensource Web...
متن کاملArchitectures for Inlining Security Monitors in Web Applications
Securing JavaScript in the browser is an open and challenging problem. Code from pervasive third-party JavaScript libraries exacerbates the problem because it is executed with the same privileges as the code that uses the libraries. An additional complication is that the different stakeholders have different interests in the security policies to be enforced in web applications. This paper focus...
متن کاملEnforcing secure information flow in client-side Web applications. (Vers l'établissement du flux d'information sûr dans les applications Web côté client)
During the last decade, Web applications have evolved from static pages presented by Web servers which centralised all computations to multi-tier applications in which computations are shared between the client and the server. In addition to this, current client-side Web applications often combine code dynamically loaded from different origins to create new functionalities. As it happens, this ...
